Working with Peter Mayer Advertising, I developed a new site for HRI Properties. The site unites their different verticals under one roof, utilizing their new, cohesive branding and messaging. It is a WordPress site with a custom theme & plugins. While the functionality is fairly standard, the intentional animation, impressive design, and attention to usability makes this site stand out.
- Accessibility (WCAG)
- Web Development
The new site unites HRI’s different lines of business, but each area still needed a dedicated landing page. These pages showcase relevant properties, news, and the story of that line of business. Properties are a dedicated custom post type (CPT), allowing them to be easily featured throughout the site.
Portfolio & Properties
The portfolio page showcases individual properties. Properties display relevant details, depending on the property type (lodging or residential), and then link off-site to the property site itself.
Adding Featured Projects
Showcasing successful projects (both historic and ongoing) was an important requirement for this site. Current projects and case studies each received a dedicated CPT. They share a similar, customized drag-and-drop backend for adding flexible content. This allows each study to take the format it needs, to support that particular content.
About & Company Pages
The site also highlights HRI as a whole company, covering the history and mission of the company in the about section. This section also includes pages dedicated to partnerships, awards, and the leadership team.
Animations, Usability and Accessibility
Throughout the site, we did our best to consider every little detail of the entire user experience. The animations needed to add value rather than take away from performance and accessibility. The site itself meets AA level accessibility requirements, another requirement for the project.
